Expert Physiotherapy in Birmingham
Physiotherapy is the physical side of recovery: understanding how your body moves, why it hurts or has stopped working as it should, and what will help it work better again. At HOLOS, the physio you know and trust is at the heart of our centre, now supported by advanced rehabilitation equipment and modern treatment technology.
Our focus is on helping you reduce pain, improve movement, regain function and work towards meaningful personal goals. We combine experienced clinical assessment, evidence-based physiotherapy, exercise rehabilitation and advanced rehabilitation technology to give you a genuinely personalised approach to recovery.
Our physiotherapy is delivered by HCPC registered physiotherapists, including Chartered Physiotherapists with advanced clinical experience in the UK. That means you are seen by qualified, regulated clinicians who are trained to assess complex problems and to recognise when you need a different kind of help.
Whether you are recovering from an injury, living with a long-term neurological condition, experiencing persistent pain or looking to return safely to work, sport or everyday activities, we build your treatment plan around your individual needs. And because HOLOS brings several disciplines together, your physiotherapist can work alongside mental health, Ayurvedic and complementary therapy colleagues when that would help.
At your first assessment we take time to understand
- Your condition and symptoms
- Your movement and mobility
- Your strength
- Your everyday activities
- Your work and lifestyle
- Your rehabilitation goals

Who Physiotherapy Can Help
Physiotherapy is not only for sports injuries. These are the main groups of people we help every week.
01
People with Pain, Injury or Stiffness
Back and neck pain, sore joints, tendon problems and muscle injuries are the most common reasons people see a physiotherapist. Pain is often linked to how you move, how strong you are and how you load your body at work or in sport.
We look at the whole picture, not just the sore spot, so that treatment tackles the cause as well as the symptoms.
How we help
- Back, neck and joint pain
- Muscle, tendon and ligament injuries
- Arthritis and joint stiffness
02
People Living with Neurological Conditions
Stroke, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis and brain or spinal cord injury can affect strength, balance, walking and independence. Specialist neurological physiotherapy focuses on the activities that matter most to you.
Rehabilitation can help you regain lost ability, maintain what you have and stay as independent as possible.
How we help
- Gait and balance work
- Strength and transfers
- Task-specific practice
03
People Recovering from Surgery or Illness
After an operation, a hospital stay or a long illness, muscles weaken and confidence can drop. Structured rehabilitation helps you rebuild strength, function and independence safely and progressively.
We also support people with respiratory conditions and anyone who has become deconditioned and wants to get moving again.
How we help
- Post-operative rehabilitation
- Respiratory rehabilitation
- Recovery after deconditioning
04
People Who Want to Stay Active and Independent
Physiotherapy is also preventative. If you feel unsteady, have had a fall or want to keep active as you get older, early assessment and the right exercise can make a real difference to confidence and safety.
Employers also use our corporate service to help their teams stay comfortable and productive at work.
How we help
- Falls prevention and balance
- Return to work and sport
- Workplace MSK health

Specialist Physiotherapy FAQs
Quick answers to the questions we are asked most.
What happens at a physiotherapy assessment?
Every journey begins with an individual assessment. We take time to understand your condition, symptoms, movement, strength, everyday activities, work, lifestyle and goals, then agree a personalised treatment plan with you.
Are your physiotherapists registered?
Yes. Our physiotherapy services are delivered by HCPC registered physiotherapists, including Chartered Physiotherapists with advanced clinical experience in the UK.
Which conditions do you treat?
We treat musculoskeletal conditions, pain and injury, neurological conditions, respiratory conditions, post-operative recovery, reduced mobility and balance difficulties, and loss of strength or independence after illness.
Is physiotherapy only for sports injuries?
No. Sports injuries are just one part of what we do. Most of our patients come with everyday pain, stiffness, neurological conditions, balance problems or recovery after surgery or illness.
Do you use technology as well as hands-on treatment?
Yes. Our therapy gym, electrotherapy and shockwave therapy are used where clinically appropriate, always alongside exercise, education and active rehabilitation rather than instead of them.
Will I get exercises to do at home?
Usually, yes. Exercise and self-management are a key part of recovery, so we give you clear, achievable exercises and advice to follow between sessions.
Can you refer me on for a scan or injection?
Where clinically appropriate, we can refer you onward for diagnostic imaging, specialist musculoskeletal or orthopaedic assessment, or consideration of a steroid injection.
Where are your clinics?
