Advanced Rehabilitation Technology in Birmingham

We combine hands-on physiotherapy and exercise-based rehabilitation with advanced rehabilitation technology and equipment where clinically appropriate. Technology can add real value to a treatment plan, but only when it is used for the right person, at the right time.

That is why every option on this page is considered after a physiotherapy assessment. Technology is used to complement clinical expertise and individualised rehabilitation, so your treatment stays focused on your overall recovery and functional goals.

Our therapy gym lets your physiotherapist progress you from initial treatment through to more advanced functional rehabilitation, without needing to send you elsewhere. It supports musculoskeletal, neurological, post-operative and sports rehabilitation.

Physiotherapy is often an important first step in managing musculoskeletal problems, but some conditions need further specialist input. Following a comprehensive assessment we can refer you onward for imaging, specialist or orthopaedic assessment, or consideration of a steroid injection.

Our therapy gym supports

Our Rehabilitation Technology

Each option is considered after a physiotherapy assessment, as part of a wider programme.

Electrotherapy

Incorporated into selected programmes alongside exercise, education and active recovery.

Therapy Gym

Assessment and Onward Referral

Further specialist input when symptoms persist or more assessment is needed.

Understanding Our Technology

What each option is, and how it fits into your rehabilitation.

01

Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT)

Shockwave therapy delivers acoustic pressure waves to a targeted area through the skin. It may be considered for selected musculoskeletal and tendon-related conditions, particularly where symptoms have been slow to settle.

It is only offered following an appropriate physiotherapy assessment and, where suitable, forms part of a wider treatment programme alongside progressive exercise and rehabilitation.

How we help

02

Electrotherapy

Electrotherapy covers a range of equipment that may be used to support pain relief or muscle activation in selected physiotherapy programmes.

It is used where clinically appropriate and alongside active rehabilitation, rather than as a replacement for exercise, education and progressive recovery.

How we help

03

The Therapy Gym

Our therapy gym supports structured rehabilitation across a wide range of conditions, from early post-operative work to advanced sports conditioning.

Having the gym on site means your physiotherapist can supervise and progress your programme in one place, keeping your rehabilitation joined up.

How we help

04

Onward Referral for Specialist Care

Some conditions need more than physiotherapy. An onward referral may be considered where symptoms remain persistent, where additional specialist assessment is required or where further intervention could help your rehabilitation.

This allows physiotherapy to work alongside appropriate medical management when required.

How we help
